Alcoa’s new series of valves

During October 2007 valves of European made wheels will gradually change. From that production month onwards a new family of 4 valves will cover the entire range of Aloca wheels. Wheels come with valves installed ex works, except for 22.5 x 17.00 wheels.

All 4 valves will have the T-shape grommet which has already proven to significantly reduce the oxidation in the valve hole area of the current truck wheels. These new valves do not need any lubrication/greasing or special care when being replaced.

The redesigned nut creates/enables a larger contact surface that evenly distributes the forces in the valve hole area. It also significantly reduces the chance of damaging this area when applying too much torque. This new nut with a hex size of 14mm fits all 4 valves and is therefore interchangeable.

Alcoa’s new series of valves

All new valves have slotted heads which offer more grip and enable easy replacement with the use of a screwdriver.

All new valves and nuts are nickel-plated and come with a nickel-plated dome type dust cap that includes a seal for 100% air tightness.

40MS-00N**: replaces TR542. Changes are the T-shape grommet and the nut. Valves are interchangeable.

54MS-00N**: for European made 19.5 x 7.50 and 19.5 x 8.25 wheels with part numbers that start with 7734xx and 7834xx, including Dura-Flange® versions.

The design of these wheels does not change; neither does the p/n. However, the angle of both valve hole and valve will. The 54MS-00N is a straight valve applied in the new 19.5’’ wheels and the 60MS-27N is an angled valve which was applied in the current 19.5” wheels.

Therefore new and previous series of 19.5” wheels & valves, which have different valves & valve hole angles, are NOT interchangeable. In case of a mixed dual fitment the older wheel must be fitted at the outer position to be able to fit an extension valve at the inner wheel.
The “manufacturing date” is impressed in the bead area and is located on the open side of the wheel, right across the valve.

70MS-07N2 (i.e. 2nd version) is the modification of the current 70MS-07N. The T-shape grommet was already applied. The new version will have the new design nut, slotted head and dome type dust cap. Valves are interchangeable.

83MS-00N**: replaces valve TR544Sp. Both previous and new types are specifically developed
valves for the range of WorkHorseTM wheels with sizes 22.5 x 8.25 and 9.00. Valves are interchangeable.

**ETRTO designations are applied for.

WARNING
These valves are specially made to fit Alcoa wheels and are not available in the aftermarket replacement market. Via Alcoa distributors and dealers these valves are available. Please refer to the part numbers and designations listed below.
